Since I really wanted a burger but didn't have any buns at home, I had to make some myself.
Until now, I had always avoided them because I thought they were too complicated or difficult to do.
And what can I say: they are not :) - I am more than satisfied for my first time!

Ingredients:
200ml water (warm)
4 tablespoons milk
2 packs of dry yeast (or 1 cube of fresh yeast)
35g sugar
5g salt
80g butter (soft) - I use salted margarine
500g flour
1 egg - I used a duck egg
for spreading:
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons of water
sesame
Preparation:
Yeast: Mix water, milk and sugar together in a mixing bowl and add the yeast. Stir everything well. Now the yeast needs to be activated. Place the bowl in a warm place for at least 5 minutes.
Some bubbles should now have formed. Add the remaining ingredients and let the food processor knead everything. It will take a few minutes until everything has been kneaded into a smooth, shiny dough.
Now let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
The dough should now have increased in volume considerably. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured work surface. I kneaded it briefly with my hands and formed it into a thick roll. I then divided this into 12 roughly equal parts, each part weighing between 75-90g.
The dough pieces are then rolled into balls, flattened and placed on a baking tray lined with baking paper. The rolls then need to rest in a warm place for another hour.
In the meantime, you can whisk together milk, water and an egg.
The rolls have now risen nicely and are ready to be covered with the milk, water and egg mixture. Finally, sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
Now place the baking tray in the preheated oven at 200 degrees top/bottom heat for about 15-20 minutes. Just keep an eye on the browning.
Let the buns cool down a bit and they are ready to be eaten!
