I think chives are trying to take over the world in my garden. Since I still have some frozen, I quickly made a chive sauce with potatoes. Simple, but incredibly delicious!

Ingredients:
  • 20g butter

  • 20g flour

  • 125ml milk

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • 1 pinch of nutmeg

  • 1 bunch of chives (I like to use more)

  • 125g sour cream

Preparation:
  • Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the flour and fry for 1-2 minutes while stirring constantly.

  • Add the milk slowly and continue stirring vigorously (preferably with a whisk). There should be no lumps.

  • Now everything is seasoned with salt and nutmeg, I also like to add some pepper and garlic powder.

  • The sauce is now cooked until it thickens. It's important to stir regularly to prevent it from burning.

  • The chives are now washed and cut into small rolls and added to the sauce, but the sauce should not boil any longer.

I prefer to eat the sauce with potatoes. If you want meat, you can add boiled beef or fried sausages. You can also serve dumplings instead of potatoes.
